Voice Workout Logging on iPhone, in Any Language | Strongbro
Quick answer
Tap the mic, describe your workout out loud, and Strongbro turns it into structured sets. It understands exercise names in more than 30 languages, expands slang like “deads” or “OHP”, converts “two plates” to 100 kg or 225 lb depending on your unit, and lets you review every number before it saves.
Typing between sets is the reason most workout logs die by February. Strongbro's answer is the mic button: one tap, one sentence, done.
What it actually parses
The model behind the mic does more than transcription:
- Exercise names in any major language. “Sentadillas”, “Kniebeugen” and “клякания” all land on squats. Sound-alike traps are handled by meaning, not phonetics.
- Slang and abbreviations. “Deads”, “RDLs”, “OHP”, “skull crushers”, “the 30s” — expanded to their proper catalog entries.
- Plate maths. “Two plates” becomes 100 kg on a metric setting or 225 lb on imperial. “Forty a side” adds the bar for you.
- Per-set weights. “Bench 60, 70, then 75 for six” logs three sets at three weights, reps only where you said them.
- Cardio. Distance and duration are captured for runs, rows and stair sessions.
If a weight was stated once for an exercise, every set of that exercise gets it — nothing saves as a mystery zero.
Honest limits
Voice logging needs a connection, because the audio is processed by an AI model through our server proxy and then discarded. Recordings under a third of a second of actual speech are rejected on the device, so silence never turns into an invented workout. And review is always on: nothing enters your history until you tap Done.
Where it fits
Voice is one of three logging paths. The keypad is there when the gym is too loud, and every set can be edited later from the workout log. Records and ranks update from voice-logged sets exactly as they do from manual ones.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to speak in full sentences?
No. Talk the way you would to a training partner: “bench 80, three sets of ten, then squats five by five at a hundred.” Strongbro handles the structure — order, sets, reps and per-set weights.
What if the AI hears a weight wrong?
Every parsed workout is shown for review before saving. Each set has plus and minus steppers, so a misheard weight is a two-tap fix, and nothing is ever logged silently.
Does voice logging work mid-workout with music playing?
Yes, gym noise is expected. The model uses context — your exercise catalog and recent sessions — to resolve garbled words. If the recording contains no workout at all, Strongbro says so instead of inventing one.
Which languages are supported?
The interface ships in 31 languages, and voice input handles any major language. Slang dictionaries are tuned for English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian and Bulgarian gym vocabulary.
